Activities and achievements: Evergreen has been a longtime nursing home and hospital volunteer, giving her time to programs at Thomas Memorial Hospital and Charleston Area Medical Center, as well as volunteering at the Clay Center and at a local church's youth arts camp. She is a member of her school's recycling club, baking club, Junior Civitan Club and Beta Club, and she has run track and been a majorette. Evergreen is in her 12th year as a Girl Scout, earning the Silver Award and helping younger scouts work toward the Bronze Award. She attended Rhododendron Girls State and the West Virginia University STEM camp.

Plans: Evergreen plans to attend college next fall and is considering starting out at a smaller school, such as West Virginia Wesleyan, before transferring to a larger university. She wants to major in a field of engineering, but she sees herself eventually attending medical school.
