Annual 'Feast of the Seven Fishes' To Bring Thousands To Fairmont

Main Street Fairmont's biggest fundraiser of the year is just days away.

The 'Feast of the Seven Fishes' has brought thousands of people to Marion County for the past nine years and Main Street Fairmont said no one leaves disappointed.

Main Street expects this year to be one of biggest years to date and said Country Living Magazine is even coming.

The magazine will be featuring the festival in the November 2014 issue.

Main Street Fairmont Director, Kate Greene, said there will be cookie, wine, and sauce contests for the public to participate in.

Pierpont Community and Technical College will also feature its cooking school.

"It's just warm by nature. It's a really warm and inviting atmosphere and people look forward to it. At the peak, we have seen 8 thousand visitors. Last year we had a lot of rain and even with that much rain we still saw over 4 thousand people," Greene said.

The 'Champion Sponsors' of the festival are Mylan Pharmaceuticals and Pierpont Community and Technical College.

The City of Fairmont, Marion County Commission, Marion County Convention and Visitors Bureau, and the Town of White Hall partnered with Main Street Fairmont to put on the event.

The Feast of the Seven Fishes will take place this Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Greene said the City of Fairmont is providing free parking and will provide a shuttle back and forth from the parking garage every 15 minutes.
