Preston's Terrance Fanning Signs LOI to Wrestle at Wheeling Jesuit

Wheeling Jesuit University debuted a new wrestling program this winter and its upcoming recruiting class features a Preston High School State Champion.

Terrance Fanning signed his letter of intent to wrestle for the Cardinals on Friday afternoon.

Fanning enters his senior year as the defending 195-pound State Champion with a 144-17 career record.

He joins five other wrestlers as part of Wheeling Jesuit's 2013 recruiting class.

Fanning has also lettered in Soccer where he was named Second Team All-Big 10 and received an All-State Honorable Mention as well.

He said he spoke with several other schools, but ultimately favored Wheeling Jesuit's family-oriented atmosphere.

"It was a new program and I just love how it was a family atmosphere instead of it just being about being apart of the team. The coach came to me and said 'Be apart of our team. We want to start something good and we think you can be a big part of it,' and that's what I want to be a part of," Fanning said.
