Salvation Army Holds Angel Tree Distribution In Grafton

Posted: Updated:

The Salvation Army's Angel Tree campaign matches donors with children that are in need and give them gifts and clothing for Christmas.

The Salvation Army in Grafton held its distribution on Thursday, Dec. 19 at its location on Beech Street.

Recipients first heard the Christmas story before picking up the toys and Christmas meals for their children.

The Salvation Army said Taylor County residents really stepped up and it thanks residents for all of their support.

"We had a couple of people in our community rally around us who helped us in tremendous ways," said Lt. Benny Carringer, Salvation Army. "We had some monetary donations come in which allowed us to help some of the kids who were left on the tree."

The Salvation Army said communities are generous all year long but really step up during the holidays.
