Some good news out of Clarksburg, where Mayor Cathy Goings delivered some holiday desserts to the Clarksburg Mission on Tuesday

The city teamed up with the Convention and Visitors Bureau at its Christmas Parade in order to raise the funds for the dessert donations. Goings said she's happy to give back.

"We knew that the Mission was providing Christmas dinner and found out that they did not have dessert. And we thought, what a perfect gesture from the city of Clarksburg and the Convention and Visitors Bureau to help those who are less fortunate," said Goings.

Representatives from the Clarksburg Mission said it meant a lot for its community to meet the mayor.

"I think a lot of people that are here feel like they're a burden and don't want to be seen that way. So the mayor got to meet some people here today and hear their stories, so that's a good thing," said Chris Mullett, executive director of the Clarksburg Mission.

Those donations also went towards providing hats, mittens, and scarves for those at the Mission.
