The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources announce the department will be accepting applications for the Low Income Energy Assistance Program (LIEAP) beginning Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2014 until Friday, Jan. 31, 2014.
LIEAP assists state residents in paying their home heating bills that can add up during the cold winter months. Cabinet Secretary Karen L. Bowling said, "Many West Virginian families struggle with high utility bills during the winter months and this is a great way to help them cover the costs."
Applications for LIEAP can be obtained at local Department of Health and Human Resources offices, community action agencies, or senior centers operated by Area Agency on Aging. They are also available online at http://www.wvinroads.org/. Completed applications must be received by DHHR or postmarked by Jan. 31, 2014. To learn more about the LIEAP, call 1-304-356-4619.
