'Recovery Rally' Held at Horizon's Church in Lost Creek

Posted: Updated:

Celebrate Recovery at Horizon's Church in Lost Creek held a ‘recovery rally' Friday evening.

The event aims to welcome in the new year with a celebration of recovery.

The Davisson Brothers were there to entertain the crowd and two nationally known speakers told stories of inspiration, Brad and Renee Rutledge.

One of the pastor's at Horizon's Church, John Eklund, said the event aims to start the new year off on the right foot.

"We just want the community to come out and enjoy themselves and we want to inspire the community. We believe God is going to do amazing things in 2014 and I'm convinced that this is going to be a different kind of year and we want to start it off with the expectation that God is going to do great things and we're rallying around that idea," said Eklund.

Ministry Leader Apprentice, Yvonne Chelberg, agreed.

"There has been a lot of bad stuff happening this past year in the area, we've had some people killed on the streets, a lot of drug problems and the city has been really cracking down on things trying to get things," she said. "We need a solution so then we thought this would be a great solution, good way to start the year, have people come and find out there is hope, there is a way to get help for any hurt, habit or hang-up you have."

The Recovery Rally was held at Horizon's Church in Lost Creek on Mount Clare Road.

There was a dinner before the event and was catered by Audia's. For more information on Horizon's Church or Celebrate Recovery click here.
