Community Care of West Virginia Educates Residents About Health Insurance

Posted: Updated:

Community Care of West Virginia is educating residents about health insurance and helping them sign up.

Nationwide, six million people have now signed up in the marketplace.

Enrollment officials said many rural West Virginians don't have Internet access and can't get answers.

"We can help answer questions, and try to figure out based on income levels which policy you're going to fall into and help you with the process. We don't make any determination ourselves. Those are done through the marketplace or through DHHR," said Kristi Walker, of Community Care of West Virginia.

Walker said events will be held to reach these people.

Open enrollment for private insurance runs through the end of March.
