MEMPHIS, Tenn., Jan. 14, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- American Snuff Company, the manufacturer of Grizzly, the best-selling moist snuff brand in the U.S., has awarded donations totaling a quarter of a million dollars to two non-profit outdoor conservation organizations.
Through the Grizzly Outdoor Corps promotion, the company is donating $130,000 and $120,000 to The Boone and Crockett Club and the FishAmerica Foundation organizations, respectively. Registered, age-verified adult Grizzly consumers voted on which organization receives the larger donation via the brand's website, mygrizzly.com.
"This is a way for Grizzly consumers to show support for organizations that value the outdoors," says Sean Kinder, director of marketing for American Snuff Company.
The Boone and Crockett Foundation promotes conservation and management of wildlife, and wildlife habitats, to preserve and encourage hunting and to maintain the highest ethical standards of fair chase and sportsmanship. The FishAmerica Foundation is the conservation and research foundation of the American Sportfishing Association. It offers grants to empower local communities and leverage volunteer support to invest in the future of fishing.
The Grizzly Outdoor Corps is an ongoing promotion started in 2013. Its mission statement: "The freedom to enjoy the great outdoors is something Grizzly guys have always believed is important. Grizzly Outdoor Corps exists to turn that conviction into action. Not just for some Grizzly folks, but for all of 'em. Not just for today, but for a long time to come."
