The Grafton Police Department is continuing to investigate an incident that happened at Grafton High School on Tuesday.

Deputy Chief Michael Kochka said the school went on lockdown after a report of a student possibly being in possession with a gun.

Deputy Chief Kochka said he interviewed two boys that were walking to school together. One of the boys told him that he had a gun for protection and left it in an alley before walking onto school property.

He gave a small credit-card knife to the second boy, who carried it onto school property.

Deputy Chief Kochka said no one at Grafton High School was in any danger. He believes the boy was scared of something on his way to school.

The investigation is ongoing.

Taylor County Prosecuting Attorney, John Bord, said Deputy Chief Michael Kochka responded to a report of a student possibly being in possession of a gun.

Bord said police interviewed students and did a thorough investigation.

Police determined there was no gun on school property, but one was found in a nearby location.

During the investigation, a small knife was found on another student.

Bord stressed nothing happened at the school and no one was injured.

It is unknown at this time who the gun belonged to.
