The Bridgeport Police Department has arrested a Clarksburg man and charged him with attempted nighttime burglary.
Christopher Walls, 30, is accused of attempting to gain entry into a Craigmoor home. Police said Walls loosened the outside light bulbs of the residence to avoid being seen by the people inside the home. Walls was unable to gain access to the house and entered two vehicles in the driveway, taking a custom made knife from a truck, according to a criminal complaint.
Walls attempted to leave the area as a passenger in a brown SUV when officers stopped the SUV and removed Walls from the vehicle. Walls fled the area and ran approximately 250 yards from officers, said a criminal complaint. Walls became combative and was arrested.
Walls is being held in North Central Regional Jail.
