Table 9 in Morgantown has only been open a few months but it's already making a name for itself.  Owner Mark Tasker has been a chef for 13 years and has found his own style, focusing on the art of food.

Table 9 is Mark's first signature restaurant and he said he was inspired to open the place after he was hired to prepare a nine course meal for his friends and their closest friends.  The group gathered around a table, he built while enjoying nine of his small plate creations. Mark called his presentation Table 9 and the name stuck, inspiring him to make his dream a reality in the growing Wharf District.

"It's a beautiful location, it needs to be a destination and I feel our food is a destination.  All of our vegetables are local."

Table 9 offers a seasonal menu that changes weekly, sometimes even daily depending on the chef's inspirations. First time customer, Shirley Tennant said she was surprised how filling the meal was, "It comes in small portions, so I was a little shocked when the first plate came out, but it comes in stages and I'm stuffed.  We had all three stages with the dessert too and it was absolutely delicious!"

The food isn't the only reason customers are making Table 9 a regular spot.  Customers like Seth Yates continue to come back for the entire experience.  "It's the most unique place I've been to in the area.  It's a completely different experience food wise, taste wise the atmosphere is very sociable."

Table 9 doesn't just use local vegetables and meats in its dishes, it also promotes local artists. All of the artwork on the walls are for sale, and they add to the comfortable and welcoming dining atmosphere.

You can visit Table 9 on Donley Street, in Morgantown's Wharf District.
