North Central West Virginia Beekeepers Association to Host Public Class

Posted: Updated:

The North Central West Virginia Beekeepers Association will be hosting a class for anyone interested in learning the art of beekeeping.

The class will teach the future beekeepers how to put the beehives together, how to get bees into the box, and how to avoid mistakes that can be commonly made.

Michael Staddon is the president of the association and said beekeeping is a hobby he enjoys doing for many reasons.

"Health benefits is just where it begins. A lot people keep bees because it's such an enjoyable hobby. It gives you time to be outdoors and spend time out in creation and its fascinating understanding the bees," Staddon said.

The class will be held on February 1 at the Harrison County 4H Center and Recreation Complex.

Registration begins at 8:30 a.m.
