The North Central West Virginia Beekeepers Association will be hosting a class for anyone interested in learning the art of beekeeping.

The class will teach the future beekeepers how to put the beehives together, how to get bees into the boxes, and how to avoid mistakes that can be commonly made.

Michael Staddon is the president of the association and said beekeeping is a hobby he enjoys doing for many reasons.

"There are health benefits and that is just where it begins. A lot people keep bees because it's such an enjoyable hobby. It gives you time to be outdoors and spend time out in creation and its fascinating understanding the bees," explained Staddon, who has been beekeeping for many years.

The class will be held on February 1 at the Harrison County 4H Center and Recreation Complex in Clarksburg.

Registration for the class begins at 8:30 a.m. and will last until around 3 p.m.

If you would like more information you can contact Staddon at 304-782-9610 or michael@honeyglen.com.
