Morgantown Police are investigating two crashes that sent a car into the Morgantown Motel on Monday.

First, Chief Ed Preston said Carolyn McDaniel, 63, was driving south on Grafton Road when another vehicle driven by Michelle Philips, 34, rear-ended her at a high rate of speed.

Preston said McDaniel reported pulling off of the road toward the motel parking lot when Phillips drove past her and into the building.

Philips was taken to Ruby Memorial Hospital for treatment.

Preston said police have not issued any citations, but that he did anticipate charges would be filed soon.
