The College Sports Information Directors of America released the Capital One Academic All-District Basketball Teams on Thursday and Washington & Jefferson College had three players honored.
Senior point guard Kara Seamon and junior center Valerie Dunlap were chosen to the women's academic team, while Nate Bellhy earned the honor for the men's side. All three student-athletes are now eligible for the Capital One Academic All-America ballot.
W&J is a member of District IV which includes all NCAA Division III basketball players in the state of Pennsylvania. Only five players are chosen from each gender and Washington & Jefferson is the lone school in the state with three honorees. W&J is also the only Presidents' Athletic Conference school to have a player selected to the Capital One Academic All-District Teams. To be eligible, basketball players must be at least a sophomore in eligibility, play in 50% of the team's games and have a 3.30 cumulative grade-point average.
Seamon, who played in her 100th game as a President on Wednesday night, holds a 3.99 grade-point average as an accounting major. She averages 7.9 points, 4.6 assists (2nd in PAC), 2.5 steals (4th in PAC) and 2.4 rebounds per game. Seamon is also seventh in the league in minutes played (29.8) and ninth in free throw shooting (.783).
During her career, Seamon has produced 507 points, 279 assists and 122 steals. She is seventh in school history in assists.
