Kroger has announced plans to close its Weston store location.
A member of the Kroger public relations team met with Lewis County Commission Friday morning to announce its plan to close the 7 Market Place store, said Commissioner Agnes Queen.
"The Weston store has been losing money for several years, and that is the only reason it is being closed," said Carl York, spokesperson for Kroger's Mid-Atlantic region.
The store will close its doors April 11. Under Kroger's contract with the Local 400 of the United Food and Commercial Workers, associates may move to other stores in West Virginia, depending on their seniority, according to Kroger's news release.
Kroger's lease on the building will expire June 30.
