More than 1,000 people came out to Morgantown for the 11th annual WVU Children's Hospital Gala, which is one of its biggest fundraisers of the year.

This year's theme was "Puttin' on the Ritz," as patrons enjoyed music from the Roaring 20s and bid on dozens of auction items.

All proceeds from the Bid for Good will go toward the Fetal Diagnostic Center, which will provide diagnostic testing and prenatal services to expectant mothers across our state.

"We'll use the funds that we raise for special equipment, for NICU, for PICU. It's really a combination of Children's Hospital working with the community to put this very large event on," said Cheryl Jones, director of WVU Children's Hospital.

Organizers said they won't know for a few weeks exactly how much money was raised for the hospital, but they were hoping to exceed last year's total of nearly $200,000.
