If you've been to Glenville State College lately then it may look a lot different than it has in the past. The college is undergoing some major structural upgrades to its athletic department.
The Waco Center, along with new football offices are in place and continuing to develop on a daily basis. The Waco Center will house the Glenville State men's and women's basketball teams, along with the volleyball squad.
The football offices are built above the pre-existing locker rooms at Ike and Sue Morris Field, and will feature office space for every coach within the program.
Glenville State Head Football Coach David Hutchison has upgraded the Glenville State roster after last week as well.
Coach Hutchison said he signed around 30 new players on National Signing Day. He added that the class will round out to roughly 40 kids.
The Pioneers will feature 11 in-state kids next year.
As far as North Central West Virginia goes, Hutchison said he loves signing players from Lewis County. But one thing is for sure, he wants student-athletes who will work in the classroom and on the field.
"You talk about Coach [Eddie] Vincent, he just has an awesome program there. He does a great job. He's got a couple of kids here right now: Hunter McWhorter and Derek Clem, that are doing just a great job here. They've got a couple guys to carry the torch here. We have Zach coming in and Dave. We're excited about them. But overall, we've got 11 kids from the state."
