Volunteers said the problem began when Monongalia County condensed the committees overseeing the park into one.
Voters in Bridgeport came out on Saturday to vote for or against the city's proposed levy.
The levy, which has already been in place, would fund city projects and departments, including parks and recreation, city streets, and sidewalk maintenance.
A portion of the funds would also be allocated to the Bridgeport Public Library.
Voters casted 250 votes for the levy's passage, while 84 voted against.
