Harrison County Developer James LaRosa Dies

Funeral arrangements have been announced for real estate developer James LaRosa after he died on Saturday.

The Burnside Funeral Home said viewing services will be held Tuesday evening from 4 to 8 p.m. at the All Saints Catholic Church in Bridgeport and Wednesday morning from 9 to 10 a.m., followed by a mass of Christian burial at 10:30.

Larosa was a primary developer of some of Harrison County's most well-known areas and attractions, such as the Pete Dye Golf Course, Bridgeport Hill, and the Eastpointe and Newpointe Shopping Centers.

LaRosa named Emily Drive after his mother.

The Burnside Funeral Home said memorial contributions can be made in LaRosa's name to the Harrison County Humane Society in his memory. Visit its website for LaRosa's full obituary.

"The positive impact of James Larosa will be felt here in Clarksburg for years, and he will be greatly missed," said Clarksburg City Councilman Patsy Trecost.

LaRosa was 87 years old.
