Harrison County Schools Planning Makeup Dates for Snow Days

CLARKSBURG -

With all of this bad weather lately the days of school missed are really adding up.

In Harrison County the number missed stands at 18, which is almost a whole month.

Harrison County Board of Education President David Sturm said the board and Superintendent Susan Collins are working to plan when those days will be made up.

Sturm said it's important to get those days back for the kids.

"We've missed approximately nearly a month of school, I think its around 18. So it's a lot of instructional time that has impacted our children and the learning process so we certainly want to make up any time that is available to them," said Sturm.

Sturm said the recommendation from Collins on when the days will be made up could come as soon as the beginning of March.

He said Monday, which is Presidents' Day could have been used to make up a day, but it was already scheduled to be used for parent-teacher conferences.
