The Harrison County Board of Education added its newest member today.

Charles Reider was read his oath of office and officially sworn into his position as a board member.

This comes after Mike Queen stepped down as president and David Sturm took his position, leaving a member spot open.

Reider said he thinks he has the right experience to be a benefit to the board.

"I started out as a substitute custodian to a regular custodian, to a head custodian, to the supervisor/coordinator/director of custodians for the school system which I worked for the last 15 years.  I think I've got some valuable input I can give and have good ideas and understand the system a little bit," said Reider.

Reider said he hopes he'll be able to help balance the budget and use his skills from his previous positions.

Reider's term on the board will last until the end of June 2014.
