FAIRMONT -

From now until the month of May, plenty of local high school student-athletes will sign their National Letters of Intent.

Of course, not everybody signs on National Signing Day.

Sometimes that college decision takes some time, and that was the case in Fairmont on Monday afternoon.

Fairmont Senior running back and linebacker Noah Harmon signed his letter of intent to continue his football career at Shepherd University.

Harmon played a big role in the Polar Bears success last season. He said playing for a proven head coach in Monte Cater was the deciding factor.

"They have a strong football program," Harmon said. "They were pretty much the only college looking at me in the time, after I got injured with my torn ACL. They showed strong interest in me. Even though when I was hurt and all the other colleges stopped looking at me, they showed me that they really trust me and know what I can do."
