The Don Knotts Statue Foundation Getting Closer to Goal

Posted: Updated:

Most people know Don Knotts from his iconic roles in movies and on television, including the Andy Griffith Show.

The Morgantown community has been trying to honor the legendary actor by putting up a statue in his honor off of Don Knotts Boulevard.

The Don Knotts Statue Foundation is getting closer to it's goal of 50 thousand dollars to erect the statue but, is still waiting on around $10,000.

"The sculpturer is Jamie Lester, who did the West Virginia Quarter, also did the Jerry West statue out at the Coliseum. He's also working on the Zaquill Morgan statue who is the founder of Morgantown. So he's done work all over the area," explained John Pyles, President of the Don Knotts Statue Foundation.

You can make donations to, 'Your Community Foundation' at 111 High Street Morgantown WV 26505.
