The West Virginia State Police Crimes Against Children Unit is seeking a Huntington man who is wanted on child pornography charges and is believed to be in the Clarksburg area.
Richard Allen Garettson, 45, has outstanding warrants in Cabell County. Garettson is known to be well armed and appears to be a flight risk. State police advise people to use caution if they are able to make contact with Garettson. State police said Garettson may be a danger to himself and any law enforcement officer who attempts to take him into custody.
State police served a search warrant on Garettson's apartment on Jan. 24. He had worked at Special Metals in Huntington since at least 1994 and resigned on Feb. 3. State police said he allegedly told his coworkers that he inherited land in the Clarksburg area and was moving to manage gas drilling operations.
Garettson is not married and has no known children. He is 5'9'', weighs 230 lbs., and has green eyes. He's driving a gold 2003 Dodge 1500 quad cab 4x4 with West Virginia registration 'ROLOVR'.
