STONEWOOD -

A two vehicle accident on Thursday sent three to the hospital.

According to the Harrison County Sheriff's Department a 1993 Nissan Pathfinder was traveling west towards Stonewood on Route 58 around 6:30 Thursday morning.

The vehicle hit a patch of ice and lost control.

It then went sideways into oncoming traffic and was t-boned by a 2012 Nissan Frontier.

Three children, ages two, five, and six, were taken to United Hospital Center with minor injuries.

The drivers of both vehicles were not injured.

The sheriff's department said the cause of the wreck was the icy conditions, but it is still under investigation.
