FAIRMONT -

More than 60 employers came to Fairmont on Tuesday to potentially hire students from Fairmont State University and Pierpont and Community Technical College.

Hundreds of students and other members of the community were invited to the event. They were able to meet with companies from across the country and even interview on the spot for openings.

"The fair provides students, alumni and community members the opportunity to network with employers representing a wide variety of areas," said Sally Fry, Director of Career Development. "Freshmen through alumni are encouraged to attend the fair to learn more about current and future employment opportunities as well as internship opportunities."

It consisted of an open forum allowing students and alumni the opportunity to gather career and employment related information from a variety of employers.

"Mylan is here. We also have companies recruiting criminal justice majors. Many of our police officer organizations are here. We also have a variety of prison systems that are here. There are companies looking for business majors, there are companies looking for just about any majors that we have," Fry said.
