Scholars in nursing education; nursing school deans, administrators, and faculty; and nursing students will have the opportunity to learn, collaborate, and network at Bridging the Gap Between Education and Practice, the Nursing Education Research Conference co-sponsored by the Honor Society of Nursing, Sigma Theta Tau International (STTI) and the National League for Nursing, April 3-5 (Thursday-Saturday) at the Hyatt Regency in Indianapolis, IN. This years conference focuses on enhancing ways nursing education programs may become more effective in preparing nursing students for practice. Attendees will gain both valuable theoretical insights and practical tools.
To begin the experience on Thursday, April 3, participants may select one of three pre-conference workshops. These will explore some of the nuts and bolts of launching and sustaining a successful career in scholarship: navigating the pathways of doctoral education; grant-writing; structuring rigorous proposals; finding appropriate mentors; and advancing the evidence-base utilizing innovative research designs and methodologies.
The plenary sessions will be offered four times over the course of the following two days of the conference, interspersed with concurrent sessions of presentations covering a wide variety of topics in nursing education research, and poster sessions. The featured plenary sessions are:

Doctoral Education: Decisions, Experiences, and Emotions, Early Findings from a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Evaluating Innovations in Nursing Education Funded Study Exploring the State of Doctoral Education and Implications for Nursing Faculty Shortage presented by Dr. Kristina Thomas Dreifuerst and Dr. Angela McNelis.
