Kohl's Department Store and Make A Wish surprised Bridget Glenn, 18, of Bridgeport Thursday evening with her wish of a bedroom makeover.

Glenn suffers from Guillain-Barre Syndrome, which she developed after getting a meningitis vaccine. Her mother, Maxie Glenn, said Bridget has been in the hospital various times over the past few years.

Glenn received a $500 gift card to purchase anything she wanted for her redesigned bedroom. Her mother said what the organization did for her daughter was amazing.

"She's a great kid.  She's very caring, and she thinks about everyone else before herself.  And for this to happen to her, it's a blessing," said Bridget's mother, Maxie Glenn.

"We absolutely love granting wishes, each and everyone of them and the one thousandth is really special. It just never gets old granting wishes to see what it can do for a child," said Leandra Hickman, from Make a Wish.

While Bridget Glenn was shopping at Kohl's, Ashley Furniture Home Store surprised her by setting up her new bedroom.

Make a Wish has been granting wishes to children in northern West Virginia since 1989.
