Bridgeport Water Resilience Committee Discusses Water Emergency Situations

Posted: Updated:

The Bridgeport Water Resilience Committee met Wednesday afternoon to discuss what the city would do for water in an emergency situation.

The committee discussed different ideas for how to collect water, places to spread the word about the importance of having a plan, and how to get the public involved.

The committee is also developing a plan for emergencies that could last a few days or longer.

"Short term type situations we would focus on how we can supply water at first for three days, then for two weeks and then we'll look at what we can do beyond that if anything," said Tom Brown, City Engineer.

The water resilience committee meets once every few months.
