West Virginia State Police have arrested a Pennsylvania woman in connection to an Oct. 2013 car crash that killed two people, including a 7-week-old infant.
Cpl. S.P. Miller of the Elkins detachment charged Janel Sturm, 28, of Baden, Pa., with two counts of driving under the influence causing death and one count of child neglect resulting in death.
The crash happened on U.S. Route 250 north of Belington, Barbour County. Sturm lost control of the vehicle by running off the roadway edge and then rolling the vehicle over, said state police. The crash killed passengers Travis Felton, 29, and Raele Felton, 7 weeks old.
State police said Sturm had methamphetamine and other controlled substances in her system at the time of the crash. She was arraigned in Randolph County Magistrate Court on the Barbour County charges. She's being held in Tygart Valley Regional Jail on a $150,000 cash bond.
