MORGANTOWN -

WVU Hospitals is expanding, not only at the Ruby Memorial Hospital location, but to a new $50 Million Outpatient Care facility that's going in at the University Towne Center.

The hospital is going through a $180 million project. Part of that includes the new three story building that will provide outpatient care for about 100 thousand patients annually.

"It'll be better access for patients. So, we'll have front door parking, the ability to get good, quick access to their physicians. We're also introducing new technology," said Bruce McClymonds, the President and CEO of WVU Hospitals. "There will be a new check in process. We've visited a number of other places that have done this and our goal will be to introduce some different technology that will help with that whole access process."

This is the first major move off of the original hospital site for WVU Hospitals.

While that project is in it's beginning stages, The Rosenbaum Family House is moving to it's new location across the parking lot. The family house is going from 30 units to 40.

"We're 16 years old and this was a dream of Hilda Rosenbaum who was our founding donor of Rosenbaum Family House and she always wanted to help more families," said Jena Prokopchuk, the Rosenbaum Family House Director. "So we're very excited to be able to do that starting Friday."

The new Outpatient Care Center will be located near the new baseball field, next to Walmart.

"All and all it will We're pretty strapped for space here, most of our clinics are pretty full, we don't have a lot of capacity," said McClymonds. This will free up capacity. Parking and some other issues are challenges on this campus this will free some of that up and it will decompress this campus which we think is a good thing."

The Outpatient Care Center should be finished in the Spring of 2015.

The Rosenbaum Family House will start moving people in on Friday. They're always looking for volunteers, call 304-598-6094.
