The Mon Valley Drug Task Force arrested two men in the Valley View Apartment Complex area of Monongalia County late on Monday, March 17. The task force executed a search warrant at the apartment complex and seized a quantity of Oxycodone pills and approximately $7,000 in U.S. currency.
Andrew W. Bolyard, 22, of Morgantown is charged with conspiracy, possession with intent to deliver, and two counts of delivery of a controlled substance. Bolyard was also found to be currently on probation and was supposed to be residing in Preston County.
Ranad Jamal Straughter, 23, of Detroit, Michigan, is charged with conspiracy and possession with intent to deliver. Straughter, upon arrest stated that he had just arrived to Morgantown and has no ties with the area.
Both men were arraigned in Monongalia County Magistrate Court by Magistrate Nabors. Bolyard is held on $60,000 cash bond, and Straughter is held on $50,000 cash bond.
The charges have been filed with the State Court, but the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Northern District of WV is aware of the case and may adopt the case for additional charges involving violations of Federal Statutes.
