Buckhannon-Upshur senior soccer standout Marty Elliott signed his National Letter of Intent on Monday morning. Elliott chose to continue his soccer career at Norwich University.
Norwich is located in Northfield, Vermont and is an NCAA Division-III collegiate program. Norwich is also a private military college which includes mostly a Corps of Cadets.
Elliott was the recipient of a few major awards across the state of West Virginia last season. He earned Big Ten boys soccer Player of the Year, along with being a Class AAA boys soccer first team selection.
He said he was looking to go to a military school that offered a good soccer program.
"Well I started off initially looking at the Naval Academy. It wasn't exactly what I wanted. So I started looking around at military schools that offered soccer, and eventually I found Norwich through online somehow. I found out they had a pretty good soccer program," Elliott said.
