ELLENBORO -

Ritchie County senior Alex Lipscomb signed his National Letter of Intent on Tuesday evening.

Lipscomb will play his college football at West Virginia Wesleyan College.

Lipscomb was the starting quarterback for the Rebels this past season. He helped guide Ritchie County to a first round playoff victory as well. The Rebels were lucky enough to earn a home second round game against Robert C. Byrd. However the Eagles won that game, ultimately advancing to the Class AA State Semifinals.

He said he's thrilled to play for West Virginia Wesleyan Head Coach George Shehl, but it was more so everything about Buckhannon that made the decision feel like the perfect one.

"I'm just really excited. Their program looks like its going in the right direction. They're getting a lot of new improvements to the new football field and stuff, new jerseys. Their campus is really nice and really pretty up there," Lipscomb said.
