Law Enforcement Responds to Armed Bank Robbery in Star City

Several law enforcement agencies are investigating an armed robbery reported at a Monongalia County bank on Wednesday morning.

Employees reported the robbery just after 9:30 a.m. at the United Bank on University Avenue in Star City.

West Virginia State Police, the Monongalia County Sheriff's Department, Star City Police, and Granville Police were processing the scene and searching the surrounding area immediately after the robbery.

The Star City Police Departent is looking for a man, 6'2, 220 lbs. The man went into United Bank with a large hunting knife and left with an undisclosed amount of cash.

West Virginia State Police were also investigating a bank robbery reported Tuesday at the WesBanco in Bruceton Mills, Preston County. There's word if the robberies are connected.
