Tran-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum Opens Saturday for Tours

Posted: Updated:

A Lewis County attraction is ready to open its doors for the first time this year.

The Trans-Allegheny Lunatic Asylum will open for tours on Saturday at 10 a.m.

Asylum staff have been renovating another segment of the building for public tours.

They will also be adding new tours for return customers to enjoy.

Staff said their passion for the building is what make so many tour offerings possible.

"We're lucky that our staff is very enthusiastic and very eager to learn more things about the asylum, so with their eagerness to learn more things, we're able to expand on what we can offer," said Beth Cutright, TALA.

The asylum will offer a commemorative glass to the first 100 people to arrive on opening day.
