The Marion County Sheriff's Department has arrested a Fairmont woman on a child neglect creating a risk of injury charge.
Deputies were dispatched to the home of Tiffany Brielle Freeman, 19, on April 7 to investigate a noise complaint and a report of a strong marijuana odor coming from the residence. Upon arrival, Freeman answered the door and smoke began to exit the residence, according to a criminal complaint filed by Deputy Brian Speakman. A 2-year-old child was inside the residence at the time and was exposed to the marijuana smoke, alleged Speakman.
Marijuana and drug paraphernalia were found inside the home. It took about 30 minutes to ventilate the home and clear it of the smoke, said Speakman in the criminal complaint.
Freeman is being held in North Central Regional Jail on $5,000 bail.
