A Fairmont man is being treated at a Pittsburgh hospital after being shocked by electrical power lines Friday morning.

Eugene Boyce Jr., 49, a delivery driver from Lowe's in Morgantown, was on Sand Springs Road in a large boom truck attempting to deliver supplies, said the Monongalia County Sheriff's Office. Boyce reportedly attempted to raise overhead power lines to allow the truck to pass underneath the lines. Boyce was on the roof of the truck cab and was shocked by the overhead power lines, said the sheriff's department.

Boyce was alert and responsive when EMS responded to the scene. He suffered from electrical burns to his hand and shoulder. Boyce was flown by medical helicopter to University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in Pittsburgh.

Mon Power and the Cheat Lake Volunteer Fire Department also responded to the scene.
