Eating Healthy May Be Getting Faster and Easier than Ever

MORGANTOWN -

The sun is starting to shine outside and that means bikini season is right around the corner.

In order to fit into those bikinis, most people's first instinct is to head to the gym and jump on the treadmill.

But local trainers said there's a better way to run.

"Running on a treadmill, in a way, you're essentially suspended in one place with the ground moving under you," said Bill Earhart from the Harrison County YMCA. "Running outside is changing that situation to where you're physically moving across the surface."

Exercising isn't the only thing you need to get fit. Eating healthy is also a major contributor.

Choosing to eat the right way doesn't have to be expensive, time consuming, or hard. In fact, some fast food restaurants are beginning to offer healthier options, including Chick-fil-A.

The fast food chain is adding a char grilled chicken sandwich and grilled chicken nuggets to the menu.

"Our char grill is covered in a type of marinate that's specific to Chick-fil-A. The marinate is applied to the chicken right after we get it off the truck and we have it ready for the day," said Derek White, a cook at Chick-fil-A.

Heading out to a fast food joint is a quick and easy way to get in your meal. But it often leaves people feeling bloated.

"They don't always want to eat fried food so what we are providing is something grilled, something healthier, and something that people can relate to," said Kevin Hanks, the Marketing Director at Chick-fil-A on Patteson Drive in Morgantown. "They can relate to the barbeque grill, the seasoning, the smoke, all that stuff, the charred taste, and that's what we're trying to provide out customers."

Eating healthy and exercising is the best way to get bikini ready. If you're not into the normal work outs, Lakeview Fitness Center has a lot of different options.

"We've got everything from an indoor tennis court and basketball courts, we've got racquetball, we've got an indoor lap pool, which not many people have," said Matthew Stine from Lakeview Fitness Center. "We've got the sauna and the steam room which is a nice way to relax after you work out. We've also got a rock wall if people are interested in that."

Chick-fil-A will be offering samples of the new chicken all this week.
