West Virginia University Police have charged WVU basketball player Nathan Adrian, 19, with DUI under the age of 21.
Adrian received the citation after being pulled over on North High Street at about 1:20 a.m. Sunday, April 13 for an expired registration sticker, said University Police Chief Bob Roberts.
Officer Haley Hursey noticed Adrian smelled of alcohol and requested that he perform a field sobriety test. Chief Roberts said Adrian will appear in court at a later date and have an administrative hearing with the Division of Motor Vehicles.
Adrian is a freshman forward on the WVU Basketball team. He is a Morgantown High School graduate. Adrian is listed as majoring in pre-business and economics.
