Two Harrison County men have been indicted on federal drug charges for the distribution of prescription painkillers.

United States Attorney William J. Ihlenfeld, II, announced that Jason Marple, 35, from Clarksburg, and Casey Searcy, 33, of Salem, were named in a three count indictment.

Marple and Searcy each face up to 20 years in prison on charges of conspiracy with the intent to distribute oxycodone, and for the distribution of oxycodone.  Marple was also charged for possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime.  Marple faces an additional five years in prison for the firearm charge.  Investigators allege that Marple was involved in drug activity while working for the Harrison County Sheriff's Department.

Marple and Searcy are both in custody.  The case is being prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Shawn A. Morgan and was investigated by the Greater Harrison County Drug and Violent Crime Task Force.
