UPDATE:

West Virginia Division of Highways crews told 59News that a rock that was lodged above Route 20 near the intersection with Route 3 in Summers County has been dislodged.  The road has been narrowed to one lane for about a week because of a rockslide.

According to officials with the West Virginia Department of Transportation there will be intermittent closures in the area as workers clear rock from the roadway and work on the hillside.  The WVDOT hopes to have the road completely open to traffic by Wednesday evening.

Dispatchers in Summers County are asking people to use caution this morning while traveling on Route 20.

The road was closed at around 8:40 a.m. after rocks tumbled into the roadway.  Route 20 is closed between Bluestone Dam and Veteran's Memorial Bridge.  Crews with the West Virginia Division of Highways are working to clean up the scene.

A detour is set up on Leatherwood Road to Sand Knob to WV 3.

59News has a crew on the scene as well.
