West Virginia Bar Foundation Fellows to be honored

Posted: Updated:

Two judges – one sitting and one retired – are among 18 West Virginia lawyers named 2014 West Virginia Bar Foundation Fellows.

The annual Bar Foundation Fellows Dinner is set for 6 p.m. Thursday, April 24, at the Charleston Marriott Town Center.

Eleventh Judicial Circuit Judge James J. Rowe (Greenbrier and Pocahontas counties) and Senior Status Judge Thomas Keadle of the 26th Judicial Circuit (Lewis and Upshur counties) will be honored during the dinner, which also will celebrate the foundation's 25th anniversary.

Other honorees include John Bennett of Logan, a member of the West Virginia Courthouse Facilities Improvement Authority, and John Lukens of Charleston, a member of the West Virginia Lawyer Disciplinary Board.

The Bar Foundation says Fellows are "those judges and lawyers whose professional, public and private careers have demonstrated outstanding dedication to the welfare of their communities and honorable service to the legal profession.”

The West Virginia Bar Foundation is the philanthropic organization of the state legal profession.
