Firefighters Respond to Grafton Fire

Posted: Updated:
Firefighters responded to West Main Street in Grafton Tuesday afternoon after receiving a report of a fire.

A report of smoking coming from a house came into the 911 center just before 1:30 p.m.

The Grafton Fire Department said the homeowner left for work and left something cooking in the kitchen of the house.  It took firefighters approximately 45 minutes to knock down the fire.  The damage was contained to the kitchen but several windows had to be knocked out for ventilation.

Firefighters from Grafton and Flemington responded to the scene along with the Grafton Police Department and Taylor County EMS.
