Harrison County Looks for Poll Workers for Upcoming Election

Posted: Updated:

Harrison County is in need of poll workers for the upcoming primary election.

County Clerk Susan Thomas said 375 workers are needed all together, but alternates are needed in case anyone gets sick or can't make it in.

All you have to do to be a worker is take a class.

“Our alternate list is shrinking so if anyone is interested in being a poll worker, we have a poll worker class on Thursday evening at 6 p.m. at the 4H center. It's just about an hour and a half class and I just go over the high points of what they'll be doing on election day,” said Thomas.

Poll workers make $150 a day and anyone can do it.

If you would like to be a poll worker, all you have to do is show up to the class on Thursday, again that's at 6 p.m. at the 4H Center in Clarksburg.
