Clarksburg Fire Department Investigating Suspicious Fire

CLARKSBURG - UPDATE:

Captain Steve Pulice of the Clarksburg Fire Department said investigators are still working to determine the cause of the fire, but it has been listed as suspicious.

Pulice said the house was abandoned with no working utilities. Pulice said debris from inside the house caught fire.

Crews were on scene for about 45 minutes, according to Pulice.

Crews responded to the scene of a working structure fire in Harrison County Saturday morning.

Harrison County 911 said it happened just after 10:30 a.m. at what is believed to be an abandoned residence on 5th Street in Clarksburg, near Washington-Irving Middle School.

Crews arrived on scene to visible smoke and flames.  No one was injured in the fire and the cause is unknown at this time.

The Clarksburg Fire Department is investigating.
