BUCKHANNON - Several fire departments were called out Sunday morning to a fire on East Main Street in Buckhannon.

It happened around 6 a.m. The fire broke out on the second floor, and spread to the attic area of the building. A bottom apartment and small thrift store also was damaged. Four apartments were affected.

Buckhannon Fire Chief Mitch Tacy said the tenants living there all made it out safely. The American Red Cross was set up at the Buckhannon Fire Department to lend assistance to the tenants.

No cause has been determined yet.

The state's fire marshals office will arrive on Monday to continue the investigation.
