Our Featured Pet this week was a 7-year-old German Shepard and Husky Mix named Fido.
He is very smart and well trained.
He knows how to sit and shake, and the kennel technicians said that he hasn't had a single accident.
Fido's caretaker, Emily Birmingham, said that no one at the humane society trained him.
"Nope, just yesterday I was holding a pepperoni to him and I asked him to sit and he just plopped right down. And he seems to know how to shake too," Said Birmingham.
He was at animal control until his "stray time" was up, and he has been at the Humane Society for Harrison County since.
Birmingham said he would be a good dog to run with, for the more athletic types.
"He would probably love to go running. He did great on his walk, he does great on the leash."
But, he also has a lazier side.
"Yeah, because he is older he likes to be lazier but he does love a scratch on the belly. And he loves his treats."
He also gets along well with other animals, including cats.
Fido was adopted on Thursday, May 8 and went to a good home!
